DVDO iScan HD Video Scaler

When you are projecting a big picture you really should scale your sources up to a higher resolution. For the first few years of having a DVD player I was just using a transcoder and using plain 480P from my DVD player. I was considering going the HTPC route for a bit but me and computers don’t always get along very well so When the DVDO iscan HD scaler came out I was excited, it wasn’t super expensive and fit my needs perfectly, so I snatched one up.

The DVDO iScan HD video scaler has been a great addition to my theater. I use it to scale up my sources to 1280X720 which seems to be the sweet spot for my Barco Graphics 808S. I am able to run my DVD player, laserdisc, video game systems and standard definition television through it with no issues at all and the image quality is excellent.

Using and setting up the DVDO IScan HD scaler is relatively straight forward. There is a learning curve but it’s not to steep. The menus and on-screen displays are well laid out and easy to use and can be done with the supplied remote control.

The DVDO iScan HD video scaler has been wonderful for me, it fits all my needs, didn’t cost me an arm and a leg and the resulting picture quality is first rate.
