Panasonic 50″ Plasma HDTV (TH-50PZ700U)

Panasonic 50PZ700U I had an older Sony HDTV model for several years but I had been lusting for a plasma for awhile now. Well this year I found out that I was going to be getting a very nice tax return so I decided to get myself a present. I went and bought myself a Panasonic 50″ Plasma HDTV, the TH-50PZ700U model. It wasn’t cheap but it was worth every penny. I had no idea that TV could look this good!

The TH-50PZ700U is amazing, it can resolve 1080P resolution, something many plasma televisions do not do. It is obviously a widescreen television, perfect for viewing HDTV, DVD and HD DVD. The 50″ screen size is massive compared to my old 32″ TV, I really feel like I am at the theaters now. Teamed up with my BOSE sound system I am in heaven whenever one of my favorite shows like LOST or CSI comes on and it makes DVDs a real pleasure to watch, my friends all want to come over to my place now.

The TH-50PZ700U has some really cool technological advances. It has what Panasonic calls “Real Black Drive” which works by not sending as much energy to inactive pixels which helps to improve black level. My old set was a CRT model and the black level was perfect, it’s really quite amazing on the new Plasma, the best I have ever seen in a flat panel. The TH-50PZ700U can display 68.7 billion colors. Panasonic uses a 16-bit processor which is able to produce so many colors so brilliantly. the Panasonic TH-50PZ700U has all the inputs I need too. It has two HDMI inputs, two component inputs and one PC input. I hook up the BOSE dvd player via component and my DirecTV HR20 DVR is connected via HDMI. My Toshiba HD-XA2 is connected to the second HDMI input. Switching inputs is very easy with the remote. I still have some empty inputs for anything in the future that I may get.

I have been supremely happy with my Panasonic TH-50PZ700U, the picture quality is superb and it looks fantastic hanging on my wall. Watching HDTV is like looking out a window the picture is so clear and DVD’s aren’t far behind. I am in love with this set.
